How I Balance Being a Realtor, Mom, and Community Leader
Some days it feels like I am spinning three plates at once: Realtor, Mom, and Community Leader. Each one matters deeply to me, but balance is not about giving them equal time. For me, it is about knowing which plate needs my attention in the moment and giving myself grace when things are not perfect.
This morning started with a client call over coffee while I reviewed a contract at the kitchen counter. Once that was wrapped up, I shifted into Realtor mode with follow-ups, planning an open house, and scheduling showings.
By lunchtime, I was in community leader mode, meeting with a local nonprofit board I serve on. We talked about new opportunities for high school students, and I realized once again how the same skills that help me in real estate, like organization, communication, and consistency, also help me serve confidently in my community.
Then by evening, it was time for mom duties. Homework help, dinner prep, and pausing long enough to really listen when my daughter wanted to talk about her day. That is when I remind myself that balance is not about doing it all at once. It is about being fully present wherever you are.
What I Have Learned About Balance
If you are juggling multiple roles too, here are a few lessons that have made a real difference in my life:
Plan in blocks, not minutes.
I set aside blocks of time for work, family, and community. It helps me stay focused and keeps me from feeling like I have to do everything at once.Learn to say no gracefully.
Every yes comes with a tradeoff. I try to make sure my yes aligns with my priorities and values.Ask for help without guilt.
Whether it is outsourcing at home or leaning on a teammate in business, I have learned that asking for help does not make me less capable. It actually makes me more effective.Be present in the moment.
When I am with clients, they have my full attention. When I am with my daughter, she knows she is my focus. Switching gears with intention keeps me grounded.Celebrate progress, not perfection.
Some days flow smoothly and others do not, but every small win is worth recognizing.
What keeps me steady is remembering why I do each of these things. Real estate allows me to help families make one of the biggest decisions of their lives. Being a mom is my greatest joy and purpose. And my community work keeps me connected to something bigger than myself.
If you are reading this and trying to balance several roles of your own, I want to remind you of something important: balance is not about perfection. It is about prioritizing with heart, giving yourself grace, and recognizing that what you are doing truly matters.
